The Navis PlanaTex brand Gas Infrared Pre-dryer is used to evaporate
moisture from a textile web by radiant heat. Normal radiant burner
surface temperatures range from 650°C (1200°F) to 1000°C
(1830°F). At 735°C (1350°F), the water is driven off
quickly producing an efficient drying method.
Typical
Applications
1. Dyeing
Applications - Thermosol Dye Ranges and Pigment Dyeing
on Tenter frames
2. Production / Speed Increase on existing Tenter frames
The Navis PlanaTex Products pre-dryer design has 2 burners offset per row.
Burner rows are offset to prevent direct radiation from one burner
to opposite side burner. Each row is modular and can be stacked
up to 4 modules and/or be placed side by side.
Figure 1 shows a typical installation of two stacked modules in
a 2 pass configuration.

Navis PlanaTex Products uses an advanced combustion technology metal
fiber burner that is:
1. Resistant
to shock loads – Can be dropped or hit without
damage to the burner, virtually indestructible
2. Thermal Shock loads – Heat, cold,
or liquids does not affect the burner durability
3. Low Thermal Inertia – Allows quick
heating and cool-down, eliminates the need to rotate the burner
when stopping, simplifies operation and maintenance
4. Low NOx and CO emissions – In radiant
combustion mode, NOx emissions are below 10 ppm at 0% O2
5. Easily modulated – Can be operated
at selected firing rates and temperature
Each Pre-dryer
pass includes:
1. 1, 2, or 3 burner modules
2. Top mounted exhaust port
3. (2) Teflon coated water cooled rolls
4. Pre-piped gas train
5. Burner ignition & safety system
6. Electrical control panel
Each
system includes:
1.
Exhaust fan with controls
2. Combustion blower with controls
