All new Pak-Nit 50 Compactor – Long the industry standard for shrinkage control in tubular knit fabrics, the new design has made this machine even better. Navis Global has evolved into a new era of performance improvement and appearance for tubular knit fabrics with the Pak-Nit 50 Compactor. The final step of processing for high quality outerwear and apparel knit fabrics will give softer hand, superior shrinkage control, width control, and yield control.

Two advantages of the Pak-Nit 50 Compactor are the ability to improve the hand and appearance while achieving the natural relaxed state of the knit loop in a continuous process. Residual shrinkage results in knit fabric by tumble drying testing methods of 1% are possible. With the Pak-Nit 50 Compactor’s patented system, accurate repeatability of desired finishing results are obtainable.

Before & After Compacting

Compacting Diagram

Shoe Quadrant Adjustment
The Shoe Quadrant adjustment allows the operator to make quick and precise changes in fabric styles without changing machine settings. The numbered quadrants give exact setting standards for each type of fabric processed. It also allows for minimum and maximum settings for shoe tips and has a separate quick cleaning feature of the compaction station to prevent mis-adjustment.

Hot Oil Heating System (Compaction Station)
The new hot oil heating system on the Pak-Nit 50 Compactor has greatly reduced downtime, maintenance, and spare parts usage by greatly improving uniformity of the heating system.

Fabric Width Control (Spreader)
The Pak-Nit 50 Compactor will spread fabric to the desired finished width. The fabric is spread by an internal belt driven expander. A patented Touch-O-Matic gas charged expander will allow width adjustments to over 12 inches (30.5 cm) with the machine in operation.

Compacting Principle
The compaction section comprises two rolls and two heated shoes. The shoe’s function is to present the fabric into the compaction zone. The feed roll overfeeds fabric into the compaction zone while the slower retard roll holds the fabric in the zone. If more shrinkage is required, then the retard roll speed is decreased. This will increase the compaction and reduce the length shrinkage. Maximum compaction rates up to 25% are possible.

Operator Panel
The operator panel is a Touchscreen that controls multiple machine functions to allow quick and easy operation. The system is designed to allow operation even should the screen be damaged.
